Day 10 on the road.
Well – we are at a total stand still!!! We’re still at Grand Teton National Park at the campground but had to move to a different site since the one we were on is already booked. We were only going to stay a few days to recoup a bit before traveling on, but since we have run into multiple snags I guess we’ll stay here for some extra time.
The brakes on the truck are still a bit funky as well as the trailer brakes – the check engine light is on in the truck and won’t go off which would be one of thousands of things and the engine making weird noises. And still working on the Border Patrol issue as well.
So we’ll stay in this area for now – being the holiday weekend we consider ourselves lucky to have found an open spot. Tuesday morning will be trying to get things situated again.
Being in the middle of no where in the Teton’s, it’s not like there’s a Ford dealer around the corner to have the issues taken care of with the truck – and have to figure out the trailer brakes as well. We took care of both in the months preceding our travel so fingers crossed it’s nothing major.
We’re thinking of going back to Old Faithful tomorrow and see how the truck does on the mountain roads, which will be the same road we have to take to leave this area. Found a couple of Ford dealers semi the same way we have mapped out anyway so will be calling and seeing about getting in for service.
But until then, we are definitely making memories! Staying at camp and relaxing while seeing the snow capped mountains in the background.
Problems aren’t going to get us down – they strengthen us. We’re still Rolling regardless 😊
We are some of your fellow road warriors after sleeping in the same WalMart parking lot and running into you again in Rocky Mountain National Park (David & Cheri). Sorry to see you are having truck issues and border crossing problems…hopefully you will figure it out in a timely matter. Pretty exciting that you saw a moose and a grizzly within minutes of each other…crazy how that happens!! We are hoping that the seas open up and present a smooth trip for you the rest of the way. There are alway challenges with a grand trip such as yours…wish you well and have a great trip. We will be watching and keeping up with your adventures!! Nancy & Dave ….
