Well – Welcome to Saturday, April 29 – and in approximately 2 weeks we will have the truck attached to the trailer and heading down the driveway on the adventure of a lifetime!
We cut our vacation in 2020 to TN short because of the news on Covid. Came home after 2 days and the trailer hasn’t moved since. Long overdue for sure.
The truck is ready – new shocks (because of the roughness of the Dempter Highway that we keep hearing about), Oil change and filter done, air filter replaced, and new fuel filters.
We’ve went through everything that will be stored in the bed of the truck while we travel but still need to lock down several things but at least they are in there.
Repacking of the wheel bearings on the trailer should be done by the end of the weekend if the rain holds out. Then I need to concentrate more on the inside stuff. General cleaning, vacuum, and make sure that everything in the bedroom is put away for safe travel.
I have been packing food items as I go so we have some in there, but they are things that don’t need to be refrigerated or frozen. I plan on cleaning the fridge this week and then I can start getting that stuff stocked the week after.
Still so much to do and feeling out of time., so we’ll be busy for sure.
Having so much heartache about leaving our little family though. Our cats! Kids are going to take care of them while we’re gone but we used to miss them terribly when we were on vacation for just a week. Now it’s 2 1/2 months! So we’re both feeling the stress of that.
